This was my image of a aurora taken from my back yard in Maraetotara. This went in to the news in various places in the days following what some think was the biggest solar storm in 500 years.

Napier City Rovers scoring against Auckland City FC in the rain at Park Island in Napier. I was photographing this event for media use, however this images was not submitted for use. So I figured I’ll put it up here.
This little guy is an endangered Dotterel, they make their nests on the beach amongst the driftwood and stones. This image was taken far away from the nesting site with a long lens to ensure I did not frighten a bird off it’s nest.
